Custom ROM Xtreme mod-2 is based on Android 2.3.6(Gingerbread) but it is better than Micromax’s stock ROM. No Google apps need to be installed. Make sure you satisfy below requirements and download essential files from Download section.
Prerequisite
- Windows XP/Vista/7.
- Make sure your phone’s battery is at least 70% charged.
Install USB drivers
- Make sure your Phone is connected to PC via USB cable.
- Extract
MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.7z
file and install the driver fileInstallDriver.exe
. - Disconnect your phone after the driver is successfully installed.
USB driver installation
Install CWM-recovery
- Extract
a45recovery-cwm.zip
,SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v2.1121.01.rar
andA45-Root-Andro-park.rar
compressed files. - Open
SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v2.1121.01
directory and click onFlash_Tool.exe
file to start the tool. - Enable
USB Mode
under Options menu.SP flash tool window
- Now click
Scatter-loader
button and chooseMT6573_Android_scatter.txt
file. This should pop-up a dialog window with a Hint message. ClickOK

- Check
RECOVERY
from loaded scatter file and browsea45recovery-cwm.img

- Turn off the phone and remove the battery. Wait for 10 seconds and re-insert the battery. Do not power ON the phone.
- Within SP flash tool, click on the
Download
button to start the download. The countdown should start, now connect the phone via USB cable(The phone is still switched off). - This should flash the recovery image. You will see the progress bar in yellow color.
- After a successful flash, a pop-up window with green circle should appear.

- Disconnect your phone from PC and close SP flash application.
- At this step CWM-recovery should be installed on phone.
Root A45 using UnlockRoot
- Restart your phone, by removing and re-inserting the battery.
- Enable debugging mode from
Settings -> Applications -> Development
and checkEnable Debugging
. - Now attach your phone using USB cable.
- Extract
UnlockRoot_v2.3.rar
file and install the application. - Click the green button which says Root.
Unlock Root window
- The application will prompt for additional driver installation, click
yes
. This will installadb
(Android Debug Bridge). - Finally the application will root the phone and prompt for reboot. Click
yes
. - After a reboot, Verify the existence of an additional application called
Superuser
in application list. If the application exists, which means that your phone is rooted.
Install custom ROM (Xtreme-Mod 2)
- Switch off your phone.
- Copy
Xtreme-Mod 2(Sahil11).zip
file on the SD-card and insert it in your phone. Do not extract this file. - Now press
volume UP + volume DOWN + Power key
keys at the same time to enter in to recovery mode. - You will see two options

- First and foremost it is a good idea to backup your existing ROM. Select
backup and restore

- Now from the main menu, select
apply update from sdcard
and chooseXtreme-Mod 2(Sahil11).zip
file. - Wait till the ROM is flashed and reboot your phone.
